Greetings Lost Souls!
A day after the release of the Demo comes the first Demo patch, naturally. While we were preparing the demo for the launch we worked hard on improving the game and this update focuses on stability and gameplay improvements.
Here's a complete list of changes in version 0.1.6d:
Darkness Curse Changes:
- Added a new Darkness Curse mechanic - Cursed Items
When the Darkness consumes you and you manage to fight your way out of it, your highest-quality item gets cursed. In this process, it gains 1 or 2 powerful additional affixes as well as one detrimental effect. Additionally, cursed items can't be replaced by normal means, instead whenever you kill a Boss enemy, such as Matron Amara, one random Cursed item is cleansed, retaining bonus affixes, losing detriments, and becoming discardable again.
This way you can increase the potency of your items, but you need to take extra care about killing enemies and choosing which path to take in order to utilize cursed items to their fullest potential.
Gameplay and QOL Changes:
- All Wands and Staves can now roll with either of the elements - Fire, Frost and Lightning, as well as Magic damage. This does not apply to Firecaller's Gaze, Coldborn and other Uniques.
- Added Sound Volume sliders in the settings menu - you can now adjust Master, Music, Ambience, and Sound Effects volumes.
- Overall sound improvements including some enemy types, darkness and demo end cutscene.
- Sound Pauses when you're in the pause menu.
- Fixed a bug where some Compendium characters wouldn't be playing animations when being looked at.
- Changed a bunch of texts in the Compendium.
- Fixed a bug where Poisoned, Burning, Chilled and other status effects would also apply to your dash count indicator beneath player character's feet.
- Fixed a bug where Game Name and Crossing number wouldn't show in some instances.
- Reworked Deprived enemy type - they now heal consistently and shoot magic missiles if the player is not close enough for Arcane Sword attack.
- You can no longer push Undying Champion and Matron Amara around by running/dashing into them.
- Fixed a bug which caused interraction label to remain above chests and other interractibles after you interract with them or move away.
